Career navigation can be a maze, but it can also be amazing! There are numerous paths available in technical communication if you just know where to look, and there's always something new to discover.

Every year, STC (Orlando Central) Florida partners with the UCF Future Technical Communicators club to bring relevant content to the UCF campus. This year's event focuses on career choices, job placement, and career advancement within the various disciplines of technical communication. Due to the progression nature of the mini conference, we are unable to provide virtual attendance for this meeting.

Thursday, April 20th
6:30-9:00 pm
Live Oak Event Center
Garden Room

Admission free, and anyone interested in technical communication is invited.

Immediate Past President, STC Orlando Central Florida Chapter

Welcome to the Orlando Central Florida STC Web site. We are a chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (, a professional organization that "“advances the theory and practice of technical communication across all user abilities and media so that both businesses and customers benefit from safe, appropriate, and effective use of products, information, and services."”

Here in Central Florida, we provide programs of interest and value to local practitioners—experienced and novice—to

  • promote best practices
  • facilitate networking
  • provide educational resources, both within our group and in the wider worlds of business and education.

We are proud of our close ties to the University of Central Florida, which have fostered student-to-professional transitions and enabled our members and visitors to benefit from knowledge in both the theory and practice arenas.

Whether you are new to the industry or feel it'’s important to give back to your profession in the form of service, mentoring, and volunteerism, WE WANT YOU! What better way to help others than by sharing knowledge... especially for those who are new to the field.

Orlando Central Florida STC Chapter meets most months on the third Thursday. We post our meeting schedules under Meetings on this site and highlight the current month'’s details on this Home page. We are also on Facebook and Twitter. We would love to meet you!

Join us! Check out our programs! Let us know what you think.

I'’m always interested in hearing how we can improve who we are and what we offer you. Please write to me ( with comments, feedback, and suggestions.

I hope to welcome you in person at our meetings.
