Applications for the 2020-2021 program are now closed.

Please consider the possibility of serving as a mentor to a UCF student in the chapter’s 2020-2021 mentoring program. Mentoring offers significant benefits to both mentor and the mentee in terms both of professional growth and personal satisfaction.

Founded in 2003, our chapter’s highly successful, pacesetting mentoring program pairs STC Florida Chapter members with UCF technical communication students and other students with an interest in our profession based on the students’ goals and the professionals’ areas of expertise.

The student mentoring program also has been the cornerstone of a dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership between our chapter and the technical communication program at UCF. Over the past 17 years, we have formed dozens of mentor-mentee pairs.

Historically, our mentees have had outstanding results in job placement upon graduation. Many have remained active STC Florida Chapter members and have gone on to leadership positions. The program has provided our community with a steady pipeline of new leadership talent, which has been a key factor in our success over the past 17 years.

If you have not mentored before but are interested in giving of your time and experience to help a student chart his/her course in entering our profession, we want you and we need you!

To learn more about our student mentoring program, simply go to the mentoring page on the chapter website.

If you would like to serve as a mentor this year, please complete and submit the mentor application form. It is simple and straightforward and requires just a few minutes of your time. We need to hear from you by October 23.
