Based on the evolving COVID-19 situation within the country, including Washington’s Governor Inslee issuing an emergency proclamation that limits large events, as well as a growing number of travel bans and restrictions among the tech comm community, STC has made the decision to transition the 2020 face-to-face Technical Communication Summit & Expo to a virtual conference format this Spring.
More details about the online conference will be posted on the STC Notebook moving forward.

We understand that we share a responsibility to protect our families and communities from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) threat. The health and safety of our Florida chapter members and guests is our top priority, and we want to make sure we do our part to help prevent the spread of this disease. As you know, the current situation does not allow us to meet in person, but thanks to the hard work of your Florida Chapter STC Administrative Council, we are able to bring you exciting programs online.
As we face concerns about the coronavirus outbreak and how to remain safe, our STC Florida chapter meetings will be 100% virtual for the time being. Beyond that, please follow the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Emily Wells currently works as a Technical Writer at Lockheed Martin. Emily graduated from UCF in 2017 with a B.A. in Writing and Rhetoric and a minor in Technical Communication. She was previously the secretary and then vice president of the Future Technical Communicators club and the STC mentoring program co-chair. She currently serves as the STC Florida Chapter’s Communications Chair and Newsletter Editor.
