Barrie Byron Bio

Barrie is currently the Senior Ecosystem Manager for Ignite, an industry leader in blockchain technology. Founded in 2014, the Ignite team developed and launched Tendermint Core and Cosmos SDK, and is a core contributor to the Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol (IBC).

Barrie was first hired in February 2021 as a first Senior Technical Writer and promoted to Ecosystem Manager in November 2021. Ecosystem Development is an interdisciplinary team that sits in a border space between product, engineering, developer experience, and marketing.

As the Senior Ecosystem Manager, Barrie curates and manages a variety of technical content to grow Ignite’s blockchain developer base. An avid Starport super fan, she is primarily focused on helping developers build on the Starport CLI tool to create and maintain sovereign application-specific blockchains. She manages the @StarportHQ Twitter account, contributes to open-source codebases for the Cosmos Hub and the Cosmos SDK, writes Starport tutorials, and maintains a variety of developer-focused content that enables users to build their own blockchain apps.
