Tech Comm and Mental Health: Caring for Yourself and Your Documentation

June 2, 2022 @ 6:30 pm 8:30 pm EDT

Millions of Americans live with a mental illness. Each May, the National Institute on Mental Illness (NAMI) provides information to the public and advocates for policies that care for those experiencing mental illness. We are pleased to announce that we will be joining in recognition of May as Mental Health Awareness Month with our May 26 presentation, Tech Comm and Mental Health: Caring for Yourself and Your Documentation.

Bethany Aguad and Nick Ducharme will be sharing best practices to care for your mental health, as well as your documentation. They will be providing specific recommendations, examples, and advice for applying this approach to your life and your technical communication work. They plan to address some of the following:

  • How to ask for help when you need it
  • How to recognize your value and demonstrate the value of your work
  • How to handle the challenges and realize the benefits of remote work
  • And many more

For this presentation, we will not be restricting our definition of mental illness to a specific list of conditions. We want to encourage everyone to think broadly about mental health. By caring for our own mental health and that of those around us, we strengthen ourselves, our documentation, and our communities.

RSVP to join us on May 26 at 6:30-8:30 pm on Zoom.
